Night Running

I went out on a route I have run before but this time went the opposite direction. I don't know if it makes any difference (probably unlikely). I walked my first km to warm up and ran my second which was mainly uphill and it ended up being my fastest km of my run at 7:03min.

I didn't do 6km like I had planned to, as part of the route has no lights and didn't feel that would be overly safe in the dark. Not because of creepy people that may be lurking in the bushes (again unlikely) but because it is more likely I will injure myself if I can't see where I am running. The last thing I want is an injury when I am enjoying myself so much.

Distance travelled today: 4.44km
Distance travelled so far: 452.13km
Distance left to travel: 25,305.62km

  1. I know what you mean about the night running. I seem to only have time at night to run and some of the streets around us are pretty dark and the footpaths, if you can call them that, are not very reliable with tree roots, etc. I keep threatening to wear one of those torches that you wear on your head like a miner but my teenager is dead against it. Wouldn't look that bad though would it?
